Waste Gate Solenoid, wires broken off.... Need HELP

Ok, so my truck threw the PO243 code.

Did the trouble shooting, found the solenoid wires had be chaffing on the ground cable and finally broke. Tried to resolder them in, but there isnt enough copper to work with. The only place I found that had this part was Cummins Atlantic, but it was like 215. Way too much for a little part like that. Anyway - heard rumors of putting in a 100 ohm resistor in place of the solenoid. Is this a real fix? Has anyone tried it? I have done my research on the threads about aftermarket turbo installs, but what about the stock turbo and the fooler?

Any help would be awesome, as my truck in the yard in pieces and I need it to run!!!!

THANKS

I think a 150 ohm 2 watt resistor is what the turbo places use.

ok, so the 100 ohm resistor did not work. It did however turn my CEL off, but the truck still ran bad. I wound up soldering the solenoid and it held. I dont know how long I got, im living on borrowed time with this fix... guess its time to invest in a new turbo Thanks MIKE!!!!!

There is nothing wrong with the turbo if it runs ok now. By removing the solenoid control you probably were opening the WG too soon and not making boost. If the CEL is off and its throwing no more codes then you need to work on the waste gate control.

Yeah, he's trying to find a solenoid that someone has pulled off when they installed an HE351 on their 03-04 truck. Who has one they don't need that they can offer up to help this member?

Thanks Rod. I hated putting up # on main page, but wanted to make sure you could reach me, as my cell wouldnt let me send a PM on DTR.

I texted you. Thank you very much for your help!
