Manually shifting an Automatic

Alright,

i have read alot about this so far. I have done it a few times, but I am getting mixed results of this.

I have read it is bad for the transmission because of the pressures not being right,

but then on the other hand i have read it is perfectly fine to do as long as you are easy on it.

I want to know what do you guys think?
I like doing it but I just changed out my transmission and I don't know if it hurts it or not. I am planning to put a lockup switch in soon and if i could lock it in 2nd or 3rd then have the TC locked up it would be kinda nice.

also manually shifting takes the boredom out of driving in my Girlfriend's development. the speed limit is 25 and the place is full of Rice burners. so when they here the boost blow off at each shift their heads turn.

thank you guys for any help,

manual shifting

I have a 150k miles on my 95 4x4 automatic. Every time I tow anything that I consider heavy I manual shift. I do that to make the next shift land at a higher rpm. Starting off in manual low easing on the throttle and as the rpms come up to 2500 or 2600 let off and shift the shift land around 1700 or so. Same thing for second. When I get to 3 I use the manual lockup. Ect. It is a lot of BS but my transmission has worked with around 300 or so hp. The way I shift has worked and continues to do so. I did raise the part throttle oil pressure on the transmission. I am not a fan of automatic transmission except in equiment. I enjoy those.

Only thing I can think of wearing is the manual valve.
