I was riding in my buddies 95 the other weekend. he had just bought this truck. it has been modified someting fierce . ( pump work, Injectors, Turbo, serious head work, and a very expensive bullitproof auto tranny). we stopped at a stop light. went to take off and the truck started to shake and shutter really bad. like head hits the seat bad. i have riddin in quite a few hi/po cummins and this one really makes me cringe. it dosen't make any wierd noises. It all smooths out and runs normal @ 1200 rpm but untill then it is harsh. can't figure it out. he said it might be a fuel problem. any suggestions? thank you for your reply.

 

shudders as u take off when unlocked?....thats odd...especially if all the mods u mentioned are true...check drive shaft U-joints and carrier bearing to start....either that or u got a tranny isse ...if thats the case then i would call the guys who installed the tranny right away

 

see, i told him to look at the tranny and driveline but he told me that it has nothing to do with it. he said it was all fuel. i dont understand, if it was the fuel wouldn't it be doing it through all Rpm range?

 

If he is taking off under light throttle the 160 pumps have small delivery valves they are not feeding enough fuel to the larger injectors and the engine will stumble or stutter from 900-1300 rpm then straighten right out. You will not see it under heavy throttle so if this is what happens with his truck then yes it is a fuel system problem. He will need larger delivery valves -191's

this mite sound way out there but it soumds like your trany. on my friends truck thay had to run a wirer from the alt down to the trans. will find out why but his did the same thing. he had a hybreed trans and he was putting out 435hp 1090 tq at the tires.
