Low power and question about shift points
Hey all, i have a 1994 ram 2500, 4x4 with an automatic, ive read on another thread that it should be shifting around 2500 rpm, is this true? Mine shifts around 2000, the other thing is that this truck just seems low on power compared to other 12 valves, its bone stock other than a prime loc fuel filter relocator that puts the fuel filter up top, it just accelerates real slow, it dies better once it hits overdrive but until then its just pretty gutless. Its extremely slow from a stop, like if i gi from a dead stop and just hop on the throttle all they way in gravel it wont spin the tires, but if i let it roll a bit first then it will, could that be my torque converter going out?

Or maybe you have your trans start out in 2nd gear?
Try manual first gear and see if it will pull better, then shift to manual 2nd gear or D and then stop- if it's back to a dog again, check governor pressure.
