Looking @ a 98 12valve???

Guys,

Im looking at another 12 valver, but I have a serious question. Why would a confirmed 12 valve (build date 8/97) have a Dealer sticker on the metal rail next to the belt routing sticker that says a "reflash has been completed on 8/98??? I thought it doesn't have any true computer input? (being a 12 valve not 24) Is that weird? Help...I want to buy, I just don't understand. The actual mileage is 69,472!!

It does have a PCM, although it doesn't run the engine. I think on 97's there may have been a reflash for cruise control or preheater problems, or something crazy like that.

You know what? It's an auto.
I just did more research on this site and I think it was an update (reflash) for the Torqe Converter lock-up problem.

The guy wants 18K for a 98 12 valve, 4x4, auto, 3.55 rear, extended cab. Did I mention the mileage was only 69K!

Congratuations on your new rig! Personally I would change all the fulids, have an alignment done, and just drive the truck. Gauges would be nice, I still don't have them, if I ever modify this thing I will. Right now, finishing grad school, I just have to keep on driving it and not think about much else. Enjoy!
