I would bump the AFC housing ahead for starters and then adjust the star wheel as well. The bump forward on the AFC should help out on the bottom end grunt.

Yup, good advice.....slide the AFC housing full-forward and slacken off the AFC spring all the way......if you REALLY want a HUGE bottom end punch, add a set of 191 dv's. Remember, fuel is boost, the more fuel you have sooner, the more boost you will have sooner.....and man, 191 dv's will give you all the low end fueling you need! They won't do much for top end with just a stock injector, though.....Also, the #6 plate is not the greatest for low end punch either.....swap to a #10 to start the fueling earlier in the curve....Another option is grind your own #100 (which I prefer over a #10) but at this point, the stock auto will not put up with all this bottom end torque - especially the TC......Be careful!!

When you talk about moving the afc housing forward, is that different from moving the cam plate forward?

Do a search for "#100 plate" and you will have lots of reading and some pics - it is not hard at all to grind a #100. Yes, a good TC and VB kit will go a long way to helping the tranny work well with all that extra torque.....don't skimp on the TC, it is the most important tranny upgrade. Have you slackened off the AFC spring?
