Lift pump with electric boost pump

Just wondering if anyone has added an electric fuel pump in line with their lift pump and if they noticed a differance.also placement and type would be helpful.

I have never heard of anyone doing it with a 12v, as they rarely have FP issues.

i am curious about the same thing, as i am on my 3rd lp in under two years. unlucky i guess, or maybe there was a flawed production run or something? a mech i know recommended the ac/delco made for the gmc 6.5, others have recommended walbro, but my mechanic says they're not so good. either way, i'm pretty sure you need a high volume - low psi pump, but don't know specific numbers.

Putting an electric pump on the extremely reliable 12 valve to me is like saying if you have a cold take a shot of malaria.

Infidel pretty much summed it up.....

I have seen many very high powered 12v's perform flawlessly with the stock LP.....I don't know what their limitations are but I have personally seen 600 hp with a stock LP and have heard of even more than that here on a stocker....my 12v was in the 450 hp range on the stock very high mileage LP with zero problems. I think this is definitely a classic case of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". Don't expect any type of positive gain from adding some other form of inline pump to the stock 12v LP.

i have a brand new lift pump on my 98 and i drop to zero fuel pressure at full boost. and the truck is only at 500 or so rwhp. i need another pump to supplement the factory one. i have been looking at a walbro to kick in at 10#s of boost.
