Leaking IP... (Pics Included!!)

I've got this strange leak around the left side of my pump. Does anyone know where this leak might be coming from? I have read that the pump has an oil feed line but I am unaware of where this enters or exits the pump, I thought this might be the culprit.

I also have a broken spring. Can I get one of these from the hardware store?

Here's some pics of the leak...

I bet its coming from you AFC cover. The oil feed line is between the pump and the head, somwhere around the #2 cylinder. That won't be whats causing that leak.

Yeah, wipe a clean rag around the AFC cover, and under the solenoid bracket, see if you find anything wet there.

If not, Give the motor a pressure wash with engine degreaser. Drive it like normal until you notice the leak coming back and trace it from there.

I have a similar leak, I think its from the seal around the governor lever.

I'm interested in this one. I have a similiar leak but I just had the housing around the governor lever replaced. And, I have checked all around the AFC cover and can't find a drop of oil. It looks like it is coming from one of those bolts on mine. Keep me posted on this. Thanks!

The spring is available from Cummins. Be sitting down when they quote the price. NAPA has a variety of springs, but none have the plastic end piece which I believe is essential in not wearing the ball off the levers. One will work as a temp fix however. I carry the one I bought in Grants, NM with my other spare parts.

I have item #3933131 in my notes for the left side spring.

The governor (throttle) shaft is a common leak spot. Another is cross threading the fly weight access plug, but your leak appears lower and further to the rear.

This may be a dumb question but how do you get to your notes?
