i just did a 90 the KDP did not move ,the bolt next to it fell out and made a mess .you dont need to cut the core support if you pull the cam just pull the two lower (under radiator) bolts and you can use a bar to pry the support over enough to pull the cam its not hard just time consuming. retiming is not bad eather if you have to and you probably will .while your in there clean and lock tite all the bolts you can .If you heat the gear you need to be fast to get the gear on or that sucker will stick half way on.

i just did mine and it was a long process. i thought about pulling the cam gear but didnt want to mess it up so i pulled the cam. i was really nervous about the wooden dowels holding the lifters up so before i pulled the cam i lifted them up and let um set over night just to check it out. i was supprised on how well they actually worked. the cam is long and can be a bugger to get back in though. just cut a 12" long 5/8 (i think that the size) wooden dowel. then cut a slit down the center about 1 1/2" then sharpen it to a point. after that cut the point off so that the circle on the end is about 1/4 diamater. tap it into the lifter and see how well it holds. one good thing about doing this job your self is that it gives you an excue to buy all the tools you were wanting. just incase you didnt know you will need to re time the enginge
