Dear sir, I recently bought a 1995 cummins, it has 200,000 miles and runs great, I have read so much about the KDP in these trucks, I do not if it has been taken care of, how can I tell and should I be concerned? Pete

I would look into it. you can tab or jig it. I prefer to tab it by removing the front cover so you can see exactly whats going on and having piece of mind that it will not rattle out.

Unfortunately there is no way to tell if its been tabbed without removing the cover and looking. It wouldn't matter to me if it had 2 or 2000000 miles I would spend a few hours and pull the cover to check because if that pin falls out and cracks the case your looking at major hours to fix it. For what its worth my buddy's 95 with 160k just dropped the pin and I just couldn't say I told yeah so (even though I wanted to )for years. How lucky do you feel?
