Importance of wave washer on shifter rod?

On page 4, step #1:

http://www.dieselperformance.com/pro...stallation.pdf

It specifically says in bold: "Do NOT lose wave washer."

Well, I DID lose mine. I haven't noticed anything irregular. How important is it to have the wave washer there and where can I get another one?

Only weird thing I noticed ever since I installed the Transgo kit is that now I can move the shift lever (from inside the cab) out of Park without holding the brake pedal down. Is that normal?

One last question, is there a washer between the e-clip and the parking rod? I'm referring to inside the transmission, where the parking rod attaches to the vb. I think maybe I mistakenly installed the wave washer there but can't remember if a washer actually belongs there. Either way it shouldn't be a problem right?

Reason I ask these questions is because I'm getting ready to take off the tranny pan again. There's a slight leak from the pan gasket and I also want to tweak a little with the shift points on the vb as well as re-adjust the bands. On the rear band I went to 72 in-lbs. then backed off 3 1/2 turns instead of 3. Reason being because that's what was in Transgo's instructions so I figure it worked well with the kit. Well, there's a slight lag between the release of 1st gear and the grab of 2nd gear. Last time I did back off 3 turns and it felt like 2nd was grabbing too soon. So I don't know. I'll just try it again more carefully and see how it goes.
