Early 98 12V, auto, 125K. When I drove the truck last weekend I noticed for the first time a cyclical wobble in the engine/trans. It does it in park at idle and is a regular as a heartbeat. Smooth, count 4, wobble, count 4, smooth, count 4, well, you get the idea. It is also there through all ranges of forward motion but seems more pronounced under load. From reading other posts here I'm thinking maybe torque converter bolts coming loose. I won't have time to pull the inspection plate until this weekend but it's not my DD so it won't get worse sitting in the drive. Are there any other suggestions for things I should look for when I have it in the shop?

 

Check that the engine and tranny mounting bolts are tight.

Check harmonic balancer bolts are tight and the balancer hasn't shifted on the center hub.
