Steal (maybe borrow) a Texas license plate and put it on your truck so you dont get raked over the coals at a tramnny shop.
heh heh, you are so right.. especially when 2 or 3 guys are talking to each other about your truck in Mexican, & then they say they'll give you a ride home & pick you up in about 3 hours.. This has to be the most corrupt place in the USA.. Just saw on TV Fri. nite where a Sherriff's Deputy & the owner of the Chop Shop in McAllen were arrested for parting out stolen vehicles then smashing the bodies.. the deputy suspended WITH pay.
I ain't leaving my truck anywhere, even if I have to sleep in it while they fix it.. They have to fix while I watch or I go elsewhere.. but the license plate is a good idea, will have to look around.. The nice thing about being in McAllen Tx., it's so close to the United States.. that's the standing joke around here.

Do you think you can make it to Corpus Christi or San Antonio? She might hold.

Good luck.

very deep, 11 miles from Mexican border as the crow flies.. We come here every winter for the past 16 yrs...They call us Winter Texans.. here till first part of April.. yup actually it's running well other than the chatter, but if I don't mash the pedal hard, it don't chatter.. I'll see what happens tomorrow after the new U-joints are installed..

Well I just got back from getting my U-joints changed.. I've seen lots of bad U-joints, but never as bad as the ones that came off my truck..On both U-joints the opposing ones were worn half way through.. The chatter is completely gone when I start out from a dead stop....no clunk shifting from drive to reverse.. The symptoms sure indicated Trans problems, so maybe this can help someone else.. So much for the Trans shop's diagnosis, that said my tranny needed work real bad..
And best of all, this shop charged me for 2 joints @ $21.80 each + tax, and $48.00 for labor, for a total of $92.19... WOW could hardly do it my self for that price..
Sure will make my Thanksgiving a lot better, And a Happy Thanksgiving to Ya'll
