Coolant temp issues after HG install.....

So I got my truck back together...Drove it about 150 miles yesterday after a 2nd re-torque on the studs.

Everything seems to be fine with the exception of the coolant temp..

Driving down the road, the coolant temp needle will sit between 190° and the next white has mark towards the hot side...It will climb back down to 190° as soon as you come to a stop and sit for a minute or so.

I checked to make sure the belt was routed correctly . It's fine. And I don't believe the thermostat can be installed backwards due to the housing castings.

Do I have an air pocket? It only took about 2 gallons to fill my coolant system after I drained everything at the radiator. I've pulled it up a steep hill with it running and the cap off in an attempt for force an air pocket out, but still nothing.

The truck runs awesome and doesn't get "hot". It just stays warm riding down the road.

Please advise.

Thanks.

Conn

Check the Vent hose and the jiggle pin to make sure the hose is not plugged and the jiggle pin is loose

Fire it up with radiator cap off and get up to temp let the T-stat open and run for awhile and it will burp itself out.
