A friend has a 94 Ram (5.9) with no mods. He says that recently the trucks idle is normal when he first starts it but after it come up to temp the idle clmbs to about 1000-1100 r.p.m. Anyone have any idea why this mighht be hapening??

What does it idle at, when cold? It is normal for it to come up some, once the engine (and lube oil) warms up.

 

It was apparently idling about 650-750 like it always has but recently he said that after it warms up the truck can drive at about 30 m.p.h. without touching the throttle. (I don't know the exact r.p.m. but he said it was higher than usual.
