idea for fuel controller on a 12v

So I have been thinking about making somewhat of a fuel controller for my truck. I live to have the power when I am unloaded, but it would be nice to be able to turn down the fuel when I am hauling so it doesn't get so hot (like a EFI diesel)

I was thinking of engineering something that fits in the AFC housing and attaches to the fuel plate, giving control over it's position. A cable or electric motor would control that by driver input in the cab. So I could move the fuel plate FF from in the cab while unloaded, then when I don't want all the fuel, or someone else is going to drive the truck and aren't comfortable with the power I could move the plate back without having to go under the hood.

Any input would be great, I know the AFC is right there, but I small cable would not take up much room. Thoughts?

Why waste time with an adjustable fuel plate? Get a air regulator and tie it in the boost signal line. You can then limit the pressure to the AFC. Less pressure, less fuel. Or, just back off the throttle, its all the same really.

They call it a valet switch, you can buy everything you need to install one, it does what Tate is talking about.

AFAIK, a valet switch just closes off the boost signal to the AFC. Get a regulator, and you can still keep some power, but limit the top end by regulating the pressure to say 20 psi, or 25, or 10, or whatever works. It has adjustability. Valet switch is on or off.
