I NEED a muffler

Ok, the straight pipe is getting old, or maybe it's just me. Anyway, I cant take it any more. Any ideas on a good muffler that wony kill too much sound or power?

contacts would be nice as well

thank you as always

Where do you have your tailpipe outlet?

Are you getting a droan in the cab? It could be how you have it installed.

make sure your tip is out past the bed edge, mine was HORRENDOUS when it ws just a 1/4 past edge of fender, long tip took most of that out,

finally put on a 24 inch bully dog i got in some swapping.

SUMMIT has a 4 inch bullet for $89

the tip is turned down like the 24 valve trucks and pretty much past the edge of the bed.

As for sound deadening, Ive already had the carpet out to clean after my cab leak repair so I'm not looking forward to that, however, it is a great idea.

I searched the threads last night and found the part # for a NAPA muffler I'm going to try.
thanks

Mine protrudes about 4" past the edge of the bed and the top of the pipe is about 3/4" down from the bottom edge of the bed/fender. just enough so it can't vibrate against the bed.

When I first installed mine I had it maybe 6" below the edge of the bed. I drew it up closer because I plow snow and I noticed a lot less noise in the cab.

I think the turndown will make the sound bounce off the tar and back up at you.

WOW, I installed the muffler and I highly recommend it to those that may be getting up there in years and cant take the straight pipe any more. It makes it so that you can talk while standing by the tail pipe. it does the best work under load plus you still get the turbo whistle. napa part #21471, $119

I posted a thread for an AP3891 -- TruckEx/AP cross of BOTH Donaldson and Nelson 51" semi mufflers, 4" in/out, AWESOME note, but nice and quiet for $60 bucks out the door. Worth a good look, and fits perfectly in the spot vacated by my stock resonator and muffler. I used my original 3" pipes with addapters. Now I am looking forward to the full 4" exhaust I hope to install this summer!!

Glad you like your Napa Muffler.
