I need a measurement please...
I will be grateful if someone with a 1995-1997 2500/3500 Club Cab 4WD NV4500 can measure the rear drive shaft please. It needs to be from the center of the front u-joint to the center of the rear. I am doing a V10 Cummins swap... the V10 is an auto and my 5 speed is from a 2WD. I am making the switch over the weekend and need to have a drive shaft made. Thank you in advance for the help... hope it's not too much trouble/will save me some time-
I are confused. Why do you need the DS length from a 4by if you are putting a 2wd tranny in? You will probably want a carrier bearing and a two piece driveshaft, because that shaft will be about 8' long.
I am mating the 2wd 5 speed to the V10 transfer case... I already have the new mainshaft and housing ordered and should arrive today. I will not even see the V10 truck until it's time to do the switch. I thought I would get a jump on the shaft but I don't know what I am looking at yet as I have not laid eyes on the V10 truck yet. I don't even know if the 4WD is a two piece system either... that's why I am in need of assistance. I am grateful for any help or advice- Thanks
Auto and 5 spd had different spline count on the t-case input. Is that getting changed as well?
I think the CC/LB 4bys have a carrier bearing, but I can't confirm since I don't have that configuration.

Interesting note on the input spline count... did not know that. When I ordered the main shaft and housing I was told it was all I needed but it is all a learning experience for me. I will definitely check into it... thanks. The drive shaft will have to wait until next week anyways. Thanks for all the input-

Well lucky me... I guess I'm on the hunt for an input shaft now. So much for the switch for Monday... was hoping to get this done before it gets too close to Christmas. I am grateful that each of you read this post... can't imagine trying to do this without a little advice. Thanks again and please let me know if anything else comes to mind-
