If your talking about good ol' fashioned repackable wheel bearings then I've got an idea I've been working on check this out:

92-97 Ford F350 steering knuckles, axle stub shafts, spindles, rotors. 92-97 F-350's w/dana 60 use the same ball joints. I haven't measured the knuckles to see if it would work yet however the tapers in the ford knuckles for the tie rod ends are a few thousands larger in the top and bottom of the taper but I think a guy could get around that. I think the ideal year for the ford gear from the knuckles out would be around a 1993 as the rotor diameter for a dually is a 1/16" larger on the rotors. My only real stump other than verifing that the knuckles would fit is the calipers. The ford calipers are dual piston, the dodge single. The combined cylinder bore on the ford is about 4-1/2" while the dodge was around I think 3-9/16" but yet a guy could probably build a caliper mounting bracket and modify the ford knuckles so the dodge calipers could work. I haven't really pursued this plan because well I'm broke and it's not real high on projects list (bombing first). But I think this conversion would work. A guy could for say locate the good used parts on car-parts.com they're a good junk yard network. Might be worth checkin out, I'm gettin tired of having to buy my hub assy's from the Dodge boys cause they're different from the heavy 2500's plus the $#& things are one shot deal why couldn't they put a grease fitting hole in the rotor and a fitting in the hub assy *&^%*^% engineers!

I think this could probably be done with used/modified parts for about $400-$600

to fix the tirerod size issue i ran across a company called bullet proof steering or something. They make a suposiedly whole new setup for our trucks. tie rods, drag links the works out of super heavy walled tubeing and heim joints. Anyway they would fix the problem because you have to drill out your ends with a 3/4" hole I think? to fit the larger bolts for the heim joints they use. the whole front packagae is expensive now that the price of steel is up. 300-500$ I think

How do these joints take grease or hold grease How long have you had this setup, how much abuse will it handle compared to stock type steering system?

they do not get grease, they are teflon lined self cleaning heims. I have had it for about 6 months and no problems yet, the heims are rated at 56,000 pounds
