How to hook in Fuel pressure gauge

I bought a fuel pressure gauge kit from someone here recently. I can't figure out how to hook the rubber line into a fitting. I was told ontop of the fuel filter?

Sorry for the stupid question....I guess I'm tired of swapping out parts...........

it's below at the bottom of the page. I also was told I didn't need a schraeder valve.

I did some more research on this question on another site.

Well, it looks like I stopped short of all the parts I need. I think someone thought I had a 24 valve. Tapping a bonjo bolt hugh.....? I don't see that happening anytime soon.

Anyone know where I can get one?

--is the oil dampened gauge that I got likely to survive the bouncing WITHOUT a needle-valve?

Thanks

I give it five minutes max before the gauge self destructs, you won't be able to get a good reading in the meantime.
Tapping the banjo isn't that hard but if you don't feel up to it buy an adaptor from TST
http://www.tstproducts.com/index.asp...PROD&ProdID=62

This fitting isn't designed for permanent hook up.

Thanks Infidel--

Would you believe I have one of those....? I bought it last year.

I can't figure out where to hook the darn thing up. I looked at the top of both trucks fuel filter housing. What I see are three bolts. One for removing the filter, two banjo types for the input and output. I found the little screw on the forward most bolt that appears to be the output side that goes to the banjo that you used to tap and add a needle valve on. But when I removed that tiny screw there was no way that TST adaptor would fit. So, I can't figure out where to screw that darn thing in! (I know, ha ha...put some fur around it.... ) The back screw looks like it comes straight from the O/F valve. Am I missing something? You know, If you would make another one of those attachments like you used Infidel-I'd be happy to compensate you for it.

Tom, the TST adaptor is supposed to screw into the location of the small bolt on the forward banjo on top of the filter housing. It is a small metric bolt size.
If yours doesn't fit my guess is you have an adaptor for a 24 valve.

I used to sell tapped banjos with a valve for $20 but after selling about 30 there was no more demand.
I think I might have a few banjos and valves around still, I'll check and PM you.

i put an isspro fuel gauge on about 8 months ago $125 from piers it came with an isolator and and the fitting. well it lasted about a week, now it just moves from 3psi to 8psi. i left it in there just to fill up the pillar, but it's probably the biggest waste of money i ever spent. don't get a fuel gauge for a 12v just go by the feel and sound of the engine. if your worried about it get a fass

Well, thats exactly what a number of us have been saying all along. Do NOT use an isolator...they dont last & some arent even meant to be used with diesel. I would assume that your isolator failed and somehow damaged the bourdon tube inside your guage. Have you tried removing the isolator and hooking up the guage directly (using a needle valve)??

As well, I dont agree that a FP guage is a waste of money. Even though its a 12V a FP guage is still a good troubleshooting tool.

97, I'd like an adapter for a 24v.
I'd also like one for a 12v.

If you both would let me know you're requirements, I'll PM you my address

Infidel,

What range of a FP gauge do you need for a 12 Valve?

It has to be at least 40 psi but a 60 is preferable since when in normal operating pressure the needle will be pointing straight up.

These guys had really nice Autometer 60 psi fuel pressure gauges for $10 a couple of weeks ago but must have sold them all. If you don't mind the gauge saying water instead of fuel they have plenty. The fuel and water pressure gauges are exactly the same except for the wording on them and will work just fine for fuel.
