Question How do i tell if i have a LSD dana 80?

It seems to me, with 118k on the truck, it's either WORN OUT BAD, or it's an open (that would be sucky..)

if i turn one wheel slowly, the other wheel will follow in the same direction, or sometimes not at all...i know usually an open diff turns them opposite, correct?

i took the #'s off the tag..

52070235
3 54 605792

i know the 3.54 part, and the 605792 means it's a Dana 80 from a 96 1/2 2500 ( i looked it up at DANA.com ..build sheet)

any thoughts? if not, i guess i'll have to crack into the case, and maybe get lucky and order me up some clutches.

thanks in advance!

J

Check the tag on the underside of the hood near the latch. Should tell you anti-spin or not. PS I think 94-95 2500 manuals have 80's and 96+ 3500's only have them. Dosent say in your sig what you have...

Another way is to take your VIN#, call the dealer, they will be able to tell you.

OR...go to dealer...with VIN # and ask for a "Build Sheet". It's free and will list all options on your truck, as it came from the factory.

Good Luck
