How do I adjust the shifter linkage?

How do I adjust the shifter linkage?
I just put in another trans in my truck. The indicator on the dash doesnt line up very good at all with the highlighted indicators. Is there a way to adjust that?

Help with 12 valve over head settings were do you turn the motor to when stting them??
