reverse lighting flickering.....How do you adjust the shift linkage??

Ok so after I had my tranny put in I noticed that now my reverse lights do not stay on unless I lightly push on the lever. It didnt do this until after the tranny. I went on medical leave for 2 months after the tranny install and couldnt take it back until then, and of course the "not our problem" chorus..... Been looking in the FSM but I cant see how undoing the linkage to put a tranny in would disturb the linkage? Any one ever adjust this? I have to problem starting the truck in park or neutral either, so the linkage cant be that far off.

Mine went out a year ago, truck started and ran fine.My backup lights were intermittent, then no backup lights at all.Replaced NSS,problem solved. It's an easy job, disconnect wire harness and remove.Be sure to install the metal washer on the new switch,or it will leak.(I know) You can test your lights without removing the switch.Remove the harness from plug, put jumper wire between the two backup light wires, and turn on ignition switch, lights should come on.By the way, when you remove the switch dont be surprised if you loose some fluid,I lost about A quart. Good luck.

Thats cool. I will have to get a switch now. I figured if I didnt have trouble starting the truck that the switch was good. I always had hard starting with a bad switch. Thanks. If possible you could jack the left side of the truck up to help minimize fluid loss.
