hesitating starter.
hesitating starter.
Hi,
Recently the starter of my 94 12 V would sometimes miss turning right away the engine..like it will kick lightly at first then go dead to just kick in right after a fraction of a second, I believe the starter to be a recent addition with just few thousand miles on it as the ex-owner had it replaced short before I buy the truck. Could this be the solenoid on the starter or some connections that could be dirty?
If its the solenoid where can they be had for a lower price?
thanks.

I good place to check for any electrical problems first, including the starter is always what kind of condition the connections are in. Start at the terminals on the battery(s) and make sure they aren't full of corrosion and work your way out from there depending on where your problem may lie.

The starter is nearly bulletproof except for pair of copper contacts in solenoid. Parts are avaliable at most starter repair shops, or online. Check Ebay also.
