governor springs

governor springs

Was going to change gov springs,took off intake,fuel shut off sel,removed plug and could not even see springs. Howare you able to do it?

i think you need to bar the engine over to get the springs to show up

You have to "bar the engine". This will turn the pump and bring the top of the spring stack into the plug opening.

Breaker bar and socket on the alternator nut will work. Better if you have a barring tool which plugs into a hole in the block and connects to the ring gear. Barring tool you can go CW & CCW. Alternator nut is a one way only.
