Anyone interested in 3k governor springs?

Hey guys, Bob (Bushy) has stepped up and is willing to look into setting up a group purchase of the 3k gov. spring.
If you are interested. Please post here or get ahold of him or through PM.

Thanks Guys, and Thank You Bob

If I can get some 3K gov. springs, is anyone intersted in taking part?

I'd ballpark the numbers around $25-$30 USD plus COD shipping.
That is just a rough guestimate and I would confirm numbers before commiting myself/you to it.

Re:Anyone interested in 3k governor springs?

There seems to be a lot of interest in this here, and on the TDR. However, there seems to be some installation issues. I think if someone who is experienced at this could come up with some detailed instructions, there would be less hesitation about opening up the pump. From what I have heard it isn't too bad. So, could anyone explain this to us step by step?

Mike
Here's a peek at the insides of the area in question. I'm going to talk to a pump man, and get some detailed (and hopefully a demo) info on the job.
Right now, all I want to do is test run it myself to see if it worth all you guys' trouble to do. I'll tell it like it is guys, no punches.

Bob.

Re:Anyone interested in 3k governor springs?

Hi Bushy! You don't know me as this is only the second time I have posted but I thought that I would let you Know that I might be interested. I have a 91 250 4x4 stock with 250K that I bought new and have never done anything to change the stock status. (didn't know anything could be done). The truck gets 22gpm average and running a 168 acre horse farm and working an 8 hour day at a shipyard kept me from looking for more things to do. Now, however, I'm getting more and more interested in getting more performance out of my LE. After reading some of the posts I guess that the spring might not be the first thing I should install but but, at that price, maybe I should get one for later. Thank you for sharing your info.------------Bart ;D

jleonard,

I think that one pic shows a pump without the aneroid (AFC) assembly, the other with.

Horseman,

It really is a matter of "nervous factor" to be honest. I was exactly like most guys at first,, maybe even more. I'm pretty cautious about ANY mod. I need to be comfortable that it isn't going to grenade on me after I turn the key.
Having said that, once you have a bit of success at the easy stuff, you'll see that alot of it is, in fact easy stuff to do...
For some of us, the major drawback is not having a donor pump to autopsy, and a test stand to run one on. We also need a supply of parts to test too. So, for now, we have to work thru the potential opportunities to improve the pump while it is on the truck.
Don't be afraid of trying a few things, pretty much 90% of what you read about is do-able at home, in your driveway, and can be reversed in no time.

Bob.

Re:Anyone interested in 3k governor springs?

Any of the guys that run the performance shops on here able to get a trade-in to overhaul for testing? Might be a good investment if they found a certain pin to maybe sell with a performance package.
