Hi, I have an old sweptline 1 ton cab and chassis. I have found a 2nd gen 12v with a 5 speed and transfer case, but no wiring harness.

Is the harness a big deal?

evidently it has the turbo and vacum pump, but no intercooler assembly.

I can certainly do the mechanical, fabricating mounts etc, but I'm a little scared of the electronic end of things.

A 12 valve is no big deal at all to wire. The shutdown solenoid needs 2 sources of power, and a ground. Alternator and starter are pretty much self explanatory. Don't worry, just take one step at a time and it'll all fall into place. Connectors for the couple of sensors you need can be found. Good luck with your project.
