Gauge questions

Hey everyone I recently bought a 97 3500 5 speed I was wondering about putting gauges in it other than egt and boost I want to know if people have put gauges in their diffs or their manual trans and oil temp and where to put the temp sensor I know it would be over kill but I like knowing everything my truck is doing. Any info would be much appreciated.

Fuel pressure is great to know, might show a problem before it shows up. Trans temp is something I'd like to do my self, not sure of the best place to put it on a 5 speed. I have some extra PTO covers, I may try either welding a bung into it or finding a bulkhead fitting. For differentials, people usually put it in the cover. Aftermarket covers sometimes have a threaded hole in them already, otherwise I think it would be the same deal.

I once had engine oil and manual tranny temp gauges but they were boring, hardly moved, so I removed them.
Fuel pressure and intake air temp are much more interesting and helpful.

Fuel pressure drop across the filter would be nice; also the best way to know when it is getting time to change it. Does anybody know where to get one? What does intake air temp tell-----intercooler efficiency?

I used a Cyberdyne tranny temp gauge that reads 0-300°F.
Put the sender in the airhorn about 6" upstream of the grid heaters.
It's on a toggle switch that I can switch back and forth from intake to tranny temps. It's mostly set in the tranny position.
I used it experimenting with different intakes but it's sort of interesting and easy to do.

Fleetguard also sells one.

My regular FP gauge works just fine for filter condition. Cruising at 2000 rpm on a flat road it always reads 32 psi until the filter starts plugging. I change the filter when it drops 3-5 psi.
