Fuel Solenoid ??? and Idle Adjustment
Fuel Solenoid ??? and Idle Adjustment
Hey there, here is my questions to you.
I believe my fuel solenoid is not working properly. I just bought the truck and it looks like its brand new. But it will lock where you can't start the truck. But however if you physically move the solenoid the truck starts? What do you think?
When starting the truck I have to give it just a little pedal. I did a search that recommended maybe idleing up just a bit. Thats great but how do I do that?
Thanks
Ralph

Most common problem when the solenoid fails to lift is the blue wire (fusible link) coming from the driver's side battery is corroded. Often it can be corroded under the insulation where you can't see it.
Next most common is a worn out solenoid relay on the firewall.
You can learn a lot about how the electrical part of the starting system works here http://www.fostertruck.com/dodge/default.htm
