Fuel pump question (probably a stupid one but thats how we learn)

I have determined it is not a good idea to tow a 24' enclosed trailer behind my 94 3500 dump, So I just bought a 94 2500 ctd. The only problem is I have spent money having the pump upgraded and timed. Can I just swap the pumps in the two trucks. Will the pump timing be effected if I switch the pumps, is the pump timing something that is an internal adjustment of the pump, or is it effected when you remove the pump from the truck.
Thanks

If you get both engines to TDC and can swap pumps without the injection pump turning your timing will be unchanged. It will be a little difficult but definitely doable.

Guess you know your 3500 is probably going to turn into a dog...
