fuel pressure
right now i have about 15psi at idle wich is a little low and 20 to 25psi at full throttle. at start up i noticed the other day that it took about 10seconds for it to get to 15psi idle. i also get alot of white smoke at start up too and alot of sputtering and backfiring at take off until it warms up. i replaced the o/f valve and filter about 3 months ago. i do get the ticking noise in the engine ,but only at idle. i was thinking of replacing everything from the fuel tank to the injector pump who makes some kits for our trucks. i thinking haisleys aux pump or janetty's big line kit.

I would be more inclined to stay with the mechanical fuel pump. The electric pumps can't supply the 20+ psi required at the higher RPM and may drop your performance.
I would replace fuel supply lines etc to increase the flow, but I would keep/replace the mechanical pump instead of going electric. Electric pumps are just trouble IMHO..

The mechanical pump will support alot of power, I mean allot, it's fine as long as the pressure is good at idle and at 2K or so (that's the over flow valve check) and check it under full load (that's the pump check) typically 20-25 not under load and 15 or so under load is fine.
An Aux system like Hasiley's is for like full throttle runs, I run one and have run it for 2 years.
