I kinda tried that somewhat Steve - my second tank of fuel was a road trip from Nashville to Birmingham, and I kept it 70 or lower the whole trip. As for 60-65, I can't bring myself to crawl along that slow... I just can't do it

DRM, I was referring to BC since his truck doesn't really seem to have any other issues. I think once the lack of power issue that your truck has is figured out, your mileage would be better. The 4x4's are at a disadvantage from the get-go, higher profile and more rolling resistance plus extra weight have some effect.

Well, here are my symptoms. Right now, driving around town, I get about 13 MPG. When the truck stits a bit, air gets in, but it seems like it only does it when there is 3/8 of a tank or more. I couldn't find the rubber lines behind the fuel filter. Also, I think that my timing might have slipped. In the summer I would get 19mpg, mix of highway and city. Around november and early december, I got 15-16 mpg. Do stations switch to a severely blended fuel during december and january? How much does timing being off just a bit affect milage? Any thoughts of air getting in?

Thanks

The winter blend in MN is probably around 20%. You will surely see a difference, especially when you are "using" the fuel.

what im wondering about its his rpm at
70mph (2100) thats a little high isnt it?
or is that the norm for a 350?
mine is alittle over 1750 at 70 mph
i have a 250 4x4 with 3.54 gears
im getting around 17.5 mpg, in the summer i get 21mpg easily
but most of it is highway.

i used to get around 15mpg, i replaced the fuel lines, started using power service and a fuel injector cleaner.

1750 at 70???

My dually has 235's on it and it run 70 at 2000 even. 1750 sounds like 60 MPH to me.

Just comparing to my truck though, Mine only gets 13.5-15 City, Highway, and towing almost everyday. Mileage really sucks.

Right after I bought the truck last March I was getting 18-19 every tank, and I once got 21.5 driving and towing on the same tank. I think these trucks are just tempermental, after all, wouldn't you be if you pulled 15,000 lbs, and were expected to do that just as easy as you pull your own weight?

Oh Well, That's just what I think, You have to buy fuel sooner or later anyway

Seems like no matter what I'm right between 16.5 and 17.5, highway or not.

Towing a 24' 5er (7000 lbs) I get around 15
Towing 24' gooseneck w/ tractor (10,000 lbs) I get around 13

Mines 4x4 and these are uncorrected as I have 265's instead of 245's that it came with.

Also I have a heavy foot.

FYI Infidel. I may have a oddity, but my 94 had a cat 3" inlet 4" outlet. Hollowed out now though.
