Play in the steering

I have a 98 2500 with excessive play in the steering wheel. I have changed the steering gear box with another stock one but it didnt really fix the problem. Does any one have any suggestions?

Is your truck a 4WD?? If so, you should check the track bar. They are know to be real crappy. I don't have one but the others will give you all sorts of info.

Thanks alot for the suggestion and pics, after looking under my truck it looks like the track bar and the ball studs are worn out. Hopefully this will fix the problem

I think it's the DT trac bar that has been know to contact the front differential.
Doesn't have the same bend in the same place as the OEM.

Isn't Lukes Link just ends you put on the OEM trac bar?

I seem to remember reading on the TDR or DTR that guys were having problems with them......I distinctly remember because I thought it was a great solution - before I read the posts.

I guess I could be mistaken.....will have to do some searching to see if I can find the old posts.
