Fuel Line Replacement

Time to do this. I have done the engine side, now for the tank side. I have the bed tilted 4", so fairly good access. Supply side is off. I cant remove the return line. The quick connect does not seem to come off. The line slides in/out 1/4", looks like a plastic locking ring turns around in the connector. Any tips or pics that can tell or show me how this is done? The connector on the tank is plastic, and I prefer not to break that. Thanks for any help and advice.
Ken

I had a tough time with my return as well, just did them last week. I ended up just snipping the thin spot of the black plastic line with dykes and peeled the retaining clip out in peices. I just used SAE rubber hose to replace it, so I shaved the ridge on the hose barb (on sending unit) so I could get 2 good clamps on there. Good luck.

Sometimes I use a pair of small needle nose vise grips and adjust so they just pinch the plastic lock enough to remove line. I have large hands and this has worked for me in the past.

They also get filled with gunk making it harder to compress the clips.

I just cut mine off, replaced with rubber.

One more for hose clamps instead.

Thank you for the replies. I used a dremel and cut the connector apart, great idea. I double clamped both sides, both lines. Thanks again!
