fuel fitler 12v question

Bill (Infidel) should have seen the neat accesory John Deere includes with every fuel filter cartridge. A funnel that screws onto the filter and blocks the inner (filtered fuel) side, but allows pre-filling the filter. Makes a fast engine re-start after changing filters in the field

Most fuel filters I deal with have a 1" NPT inner thread.
Just screw a long pipe nipple in to block the inner part and pour fuel in the outside part. The nipple also doubles as a handle while filling.
In the shop though I always put them on empty, open a bleeder and pressurize the fuel tank with compressed air regulated to 10 psi.
Fills the Cummins up and bleeds air in about ten seconds. On my JDs it's even faster.
