One line should have vacuum in 4wd, the other should have vacuum in 2wd. The disconnect system may be the cause if the teeth on the mating shafts have been worn to a "ramp" shape, causing the sliding collar to be pushed off under load. First, I would check the front axle u-joints, and the double-cardan joint on the front shaft for play.

i have somehting similar or the same thing....i get vibration in 4wheel drive on my 95...ive been told to check linkage (engagement) cause it may be rusty and sticking or not moving all the way so ur partially engaged/disengaged so lube that linkage up...and then ive been told to check the fluid levels(transfer case) cause no one ever changes them so you could be really low...i think thats my problem right now cause the vibration goes away after abotu 15 min of driving in 4wheel...so i think im not geting alot of lubrication
good luck tell me what you find before i have to go under there myself this weekend
