Front rotors..... best way to remove?
Front rotors..... best way to remove?
So I have to replace front rotors on my '97 2500 4x4 I have done these before they were just a pain inna but to get off!! Any help or ideas would be appreciated!!! I know there is a better way than just beating the heck out of them. Thanks in advance as I know good help will arrive in a few short hours!!!
Use a socket and extension to act as a press while you turn the steering wheel. The socket goes on the loosened bolt head that holds the bearing to the knuckle, and the other end of the extension goes against the end of the axle.
Either use a press or a brass punch to remove the wheel studs without galling them.
Make sure to clean up the inside surface of the knucle and the outside of the bearing before you reassemble. Also, put a bit of anti-sieze on the outside of the bearing so it's easier to get apart next time.

Exactly the method I was trying to explain. I didn't think about looking for the old thread.
