Front Drive Shaft Advice Needed

1997 3500 4x4, has 210000 miles, my front drive shaft needs some TLC. Here is the question, do you guys use remaned or rebuilt shafts or OEM?

The reason for the question is that a friend had one rebuilt from a local reputable drive line shop, at about 500 miles it literally blew up, taking the TC with it. When he ask the local dealership about it, they said it was common with rebuilt front drive shafts and to always use OEM.

Sounded like a lot of smoke to me, just wondered what you guys usually used?

Thanks
G.D.

The OEM thing is bull .
But using quality parts is not .
No info on the rebuilt , impossible to say why it failed .

If it were like mine, when the shaft was reinstalled (after a trans rebuild), they did not use locktite on the bolts holding the driveshaft flange to the output flange on the TC, allowing them to back out. The shaft dropped to the crossmember, but because it was turning, the double cardan u-joint hit the t-case and punched a big hole in it.
