Not the diesel series but some of the others... There was a study on this... They found the MOPAR doesn't make any filter at all... They buy from FRAM, WIX, Etc... Just repaint the cans..

Check it out for yourself...

Just passing along what I find...
The Mopar filters for diesel applications are made by Fleetguard. Its pretty much common knowledge that Mopar doesent make filters. They get filters from Fleetgaurd, have them painted grey and put a different part number on it.

Ive seen that "study" before....I do NOT see any mention of diesel applications. It appears to me that these are filters for gas vehicles....Its important to compare apples to apples. Right?

My father in law had a problem with a Napa (Wix) filter several years ago. He had changed the oil and filter in his log truck, ran it a while, checked the level, shut it down and went into the house. Next morning before he left, he went outside, started the truck to let it warm up, and went back in the house. He heard the truck shut down a while later. Turns out the Napa filter was defective, and caused internal damage. $5000 worth of repairs, and $5000 in lost work later, he was back on the road, but Napa wouldn't do anything about it. He is a very mellow, friendly guy, but he almost went off on the owner when he went in with his paperwork (showing the repair costs and also showing that the filter was at fault) to see how they would stand behind it, and the Napa guy offered him a free replacement filter. Even after getting a lawyer they couldn't get any of the damage covered.

Yup. Thats why even though I'm a cheap S.O.B., I use good oil and change it often. The same goes for any other filters. I see people going with off brand filters to save a few bucks, but I have to wonder if they really realize how much an engine costs, plus the work to install it. So far i have a decent track record...several Jeeps with over 200,000 miles, a few more close to that, and one with 332,000 without the engine ever having been apart. Even my Cherokee automatics last forever...I've never had one give me problems (except a bad TCU, but that was a cheap fix since I had a spare), can't say the same for the Chrysler autos. I've had 2 vehicles with them, and a total of 3 bad transmissions between them. You can add a fourth if you want to count the Dakota, which had the tranny replaced once before I got the truck with around 46,000 miles. I have never run synthetic...just decent dino oil and change it on a regular basis.

One of my discoveries years ago was when the paint came off a Fleetguard fuel filter in the solvent tank and under the blue paint was a white Wix, filter number and all.
They charge about $6 more for the blue paint.
I kind of doubt they went to the trouble of painting it white then painting it blue?

Yes they are made by a division of Cummins it's called Fleetguard! Fleetguard is owned by Cummins and one of the few companies to make oil filters. Oil filters are like batteries, there are very few companies that make all oil filters. Fleetguard makes some Fram filters they make wix filters, they make Motorcraft filters, and AC Delco. I'm sure that Fleetguard makes the Mopar filter for the Cummins. Fleetguard doesn't make all of the filters that these companies sale like we don't make all the airbags that go in Ford, GM, and Dodge vehicles they let a company produce a certain % of the filters and another company produce the rest.

They are one time use only......... for a million miles that is. The K&N needs to be cleaned and re-oiled periodically.

I missed the part you said about it being years ago. Now Fleetguard makes their own fuel filters. I hated to get you so excited about it!

Sorry I don't drink coffee, but certainly get ticked when someone calls me a liar especially when it's something that I say that is obviously no advantage to me.
Barry, suggest you think about what you say before clicking submit, you certainly haven't made a friend with me by not do so.
