I assume you are talking about oil filters? Fleet Guard is reccomended by Cummins, K&N is not. That said I have a K&N on my truck now and it looked to be a quality filter and is working well for me.

Fleetguard is an excellent choice for filters IMO. I have had the opportunity to see competitors filters cut in half and set side by side with the Fleetguard product for comparision purposes. Although the housings are very similar the filtering media and filtering ability seem to vary greatly.

I'm staying with Fleetguard until I have a problem.

Fleetguard filters are made by a division of the Cummins engine co and fully backed by Cummins

When I was a Service Manager for a large truck fleet we got a bad batch of Fleetguard oil filters and had a engine fail because of the oil filter.....Cummins paid for everything including a replacement rental truck

Either MOPAR or FLEETGUARD... Mostly Fleetguard... Some of mopars filters are produced by FRAM...

Where do you get that info from??? I highly doubt that the Mopar diesel filters are made by Fram .

I didn't say that the diesel series was a FRAM... I'm not sure who makes the diesel series mopar filter... Sure ain't MOPAR...

Not the diesel series but some of the others... There was a study on this... They found the MOPAR doesn't make any filter at all... They buy from FRAM, WIX, Etc... Just repaint the cans..

Check it out for yourself...

Just passing along what I find...

HAD a K&N

It was no problems honestly, but i ran outta oil and had to get a fleetgard. I aint bought oil yet I have heard that the K&N lets in too much dirt for diesels, the oil works well, in keepin it out. Problem with the K&N is most ppl clean it too often, i just shake it out here and there, the K&N is one of those filters that the dirtier it is, the better it works.. I dont clean mine too often, infact i just shake it out, speakin of which i think ill go get me some oil later on today..

Tx

Think you are confusing Fram for Wix.
Yes, the Fleetguard fuel and air filters are made by Wix.
Napa Gold filters are Wix also.
Fleetguard makes their own oil filters though.

Explain the similar design between a FRAM center and the MOPAR on the right???

A picture says a thousand word don't it!

Sure but why pay the higher price if you don't have to?
One of my discoveries years ago was when the paint came off a Fleetguard fuel filter in the solvent tank and under the blue paint was a white Wix, filter number and all.
They charge about $6 more for the blue paint.

The K&N oil filters are reuseable? Someone said that they were a one time use only.
