Fixing my 5th gear nut today. I've never done it before, and I'm having trouble finding instructions or a you tube that starts AT THE BEGINNING, pulling the drivinlines, t case, trans mount etc.
Mine is a 98 12v 4x4

I'm hoping the kit that I got is a good fix--is anyone familiar with this one? Its a 5th gear nut with 2 set screws, and then theres a piece that slips over the nut to keep it from backing out.

I've been searching this forum for instructions and will continue to do so but if anyone could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it! Thanks

 

Maybe try searching "pulling 5 speed 4x4 NV-4500 from a Dodge", to get the pre steps to fixing the 5th gear.
Most people making a video on fixing the 5th gear on the transmission figure you know how to pull the transmission already.

There are plenty of videos out there.
