Engine getting warm?
Ok I have had my truck for about 3 months now and have fixed a few things and things are going pretty well.
One problem I have been unable to diagnose is the engine gets HOT fairly easily..
I'm thinking its a fan issue but I do not know how to tell if the clutch is bad.
While sitting in stop and go traffic in Indiana the other night.. for about 45 minutes, the engine creeped up to the 190 mark.. It was on the mark BEFORE the big jump to 230.
I didn't however, hear the fan running...
I have had the engine to 230º a few times.. Mud bogging for example, but it was never real sloppy mud that could possibly clog the radiator fins.
I have flushed the coolant already...
I have never had any problems when driving but I'm really thinking this is a fan issue,.. I need to fix the KDP tomorrow because the front seal is leaking badly..
Thanks!

Bugs clogging the radiator and bad thermostats are the main causes.
Check your fan clutch with the engine off and cool, there should be slight resistance spinning it by hand and it shouldn't freewheel when you let go.
It's very obvious when the fan comes on, sounds like a 747 taking off
The clutch can be had at most auto parts fro under $75
