EGT's to hot?

so i got a pyro installed and on the paper it said that unloaded driving 55 mph should be around 450-500* but when i drive 55 unloaded im usually right above or below 700* is that to hot? i have a 3" downpipe to 4" to a 5" stack with a cheese box stock airbox and a 0 plate. im just wondering if thats a little to hot. i can peg it WOT from 0 to 60 and barely see 1300*

I dunno.. Usually around 55 mph I would be around 1800 Rpm so the boost would be around 3-4 psi and EGT at around 600°F with the stock HX turbo from what I can remember. It does seem a little hot.. That would indicate some later timing. Ever had it checked?

I'd say it's too warm also. How much boost are you seeing? If it is real low (like 4 or 5) at a steady speed on flat ground and you are still seeing 700 you may have a boost leak. Check all the boots. Advanced timing usually decreases EGT.

At 55 MPH I usually run about 600 on the level. However, start up a slight incline and boost increases to 5 - 10 and EGT's increase to 750 - 800 really quick.

High altitude? With a stock turbo, that is way too hot for just cruising. Unless you are pushing a serious headwind as you are climbing a 10% grade?

Mine runs about 1100-1200 on a 5% grade at 65mph, with a GCW of 18K. Trailer weighed 7000 on the scale, truck weighed 11K.
