EGT How hot is to hot?

So i hit 1350 today and it got me to thinking how hot is to hot? i rairly get over 1200 and a few times hit 1300 whats a safe limit?

Well, i think u can run 1200 safely constantly if ur towing and stuff. But much above that only short burst's. especially if u start hitting 14-1600. than it's takin chance.

man your not even close to what the 215 will put out with what you've got in your sig. I agree with Box5 on the temps, think about the pulling trucks they are peging 1600 guages like nothing.

According to http://dodgeram.org/tech/dsl/Facts/96specs.html your peak temp for a short burst of time is 1250 F. I think that only 1050 F is safe for extended periods of time if your thermocouple is preturbo.

if it's 1050 safely, and 1250 short burst peak, then I think there's alot of people here who cruise at peak burst temperature, lol. That would be impossible if u had a 215 pump and some fuel, because i'd think towing u'd be at 1250 alot.

with the disc. dug in the ground some of the older steigers are at 1150 to 1200 plowing.
