Drain hose disconnected, where does it go?

I was doing an oil change yesterday and I noticed a 1/2" clear plastic hose disconnected. It is only about a foot long and it ran up in between my oil pan and tranny cooler lines and tucked itself behind my starter. What is it suppose to go to? Thanks

That sounds like the drain hose from your fuel filter/water seperator.

1/2" sounds like the breather line to me. Probably goes to the tappet cover.

A foot long sounds like the filter drain, but it's not 1/2", more like 1/4".
The blowby tube is about 3/4" and quite a bit longer than a foot.

Both are clear.

Seems like the outside diameter is maybe 5/8 inch, and the inside diameter is around 1/4 inch.

I had a similar issue... it was the line off my rootin tootin valve!

Just kidding, it goes on the front of the fuel canister mount for the drain valve.

Thanks guys. It was for the fuel filter. I didn't recognize it. It used to be clear, but with leaking oil and such...
