I need help bad I have a 1995 dodgeand when I am driving it will shift down and right back up again. Someone told me the TPS is bad so iI replaced it and it still does it But one more thing I can drive about 1 mike and the trans temp light come on and goes back off and keeps doing it. Does anyone know if the light coming on has anything to do with the way it shifts? Thanks very much I really want to get the fixed asap

 

does it shift funny when driving normal or when you're running it hard. when was last service on trans, and does the fluid look really dark and smell burnt.

 

It shifts funny all the time. The trans was rebuilt about 18 mths ago and the fluid looks good

 

well that takes care of easy stuff. have you checked throttle valve cable to see if it slipped or broke. just running through problems i have had. my 97 was junk and burnt and hunted for gears real bad, 94 had a bad tps and tc went crazy but you changed it. could have sticking valve in valvebody and thats way out of my league. no electronics so a good trans guy should be able to tell you quick, only be couple different things on early trucks. i try to help :>

sounds good, that mess up the shifts too? like to know in case i ever have that prob too.
