Diesel Maintenance 12vCTD
Diesel Maintenance 12vCTD
I have a 95 2500 2wd CTD auto, with approx 89k miles. I purchased this truck with 60k on it, and was wondering if other then oil changes is there any maintenance that needs to be done to the engine - i.e. adjust valves, fuel filter ?

The truck is wonderful, especially the engine. I am amazed at its effeciency to have that kind of power and size and still deliver 23 mpg. The tranny is the weakest link. Chrysler reallytainted the overall perception of quality of the vehicle with its automatic transmission it is mated with.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Get the oil change, fuel filter, air filter out of the way first. Do a search on here to learn about synthetic oil and after market air filters, lots of good info, I opted for both. If you don't have proof of a recent valve adjustment, go get one, then around every 35,000 miles after that. Then start thinking about gauges, especially if you hang out here much.
.
Oh, when you have time, it would probably be a good idea to go through and clean all the electrical connections you can reach.

Don
