I believe you could maybe get a 2500 with a 360 before 98 but no cummins or v10.

You mean you don't want a quad cab? Just a extended cab short box?

Just 1/2 tons had a shortbed before 98. In 98 they had BOTH a quad cab and club cab shortbed. So if you want the club/short, and a diesel, 98s the only year

X2 and good luck finding a club cab/shorty I think Quad/shorty is easier to find.

My neighbor has a '95 2500 short bed with a CTD.
I always kid him he bought it so he has an excuse not to work because nothing will fit in the back.

How do you like those 330 injectors ?
I am running 300's in my 94 with 181 DV'S i sometimes wonder if i should have giver her a little more=the330's it runs good with the 300's and the stock plate .050 forward no smoke or heat problems and stock wh1c.

Power is good, but a little hazey at idle, not much, just enough to notice. I did the injectors after the intake and exhaust and heat was NEVER an issue. However, since doing the 100 plate and the turbo it seems to run hotter at cruise, but full throttle blasts are not over 1200. I won't get a load behind it until new years weekend, then we'll see if shes too hot or not

BTW, being a CA truck, I believe my DV's are still 131's. Need to change them and bump the timing to 15*.

John do you get any off idle stutter that is what usually happens with the 131 DV's and smooths out around 1700 or under heavy fueling it is a lot more noticeable when pulling a load.
My 96 truck has the Cali egr smog set up on it and i have been trying to find out if it also has the 131 DV's in the 180 pump.
No idle haze on my 94 and i set the timing on it at 16.5 so i guess i will stay with the 300's i also have the 4:10's like you.

Haven't noticed any off idle problems, even when pulling 18k. Ditch that EGR intake runner....you won't believe how much it restricts the airway. My timing is still stock, and I am tempted to leave it there just to help preserve the head gasket.
