Cooling system full of rust

So im just now (I know) getting to the KDP on my CTD I bought 4th hand, When I bought the truck I knew the cooling system had been seriously neglected and was told it had simply never been changed and still had factory coolant in it, I dumped it and put in fresh coolant 2 years ago. Now im ready to do the KDP so I ran prestone cleaner threw it and every time I pulled the lower rad hose it was just Orange with rust, I pulled the rad and found that its full of rust! I took the rad down and had it roded out and new seals put in, what should I do for the rest of the system? Im installing a new water pump- but this rust looks horrible!

I used a Cummins rad flush called "Restore"...I think it has a citric base in it...Worked great on my motor...I was also long on the tooth for a rad flush...Finally did it about 2 months ago..

Google it. you will see a lot of success stories and also that major oem's have flush that use it as the major ingredient.

ok cool, thanks for the help guys as I wouldn't have been able to look into both products with my current 8-8 work schedule. ill slap the rad back in with the old water pump and give it a try. 2 hours is about perfect as I need to pick up another 4,000 lb load of sand anyway- can I run it without the fan shroud in 80F temps? I read a lot about heater core issues- is this stuff is going to be ok with my heater core?
