The book says it holds 6 gallons. I could only get 5 in mine even when I took off the lower radiator hose and jacked the rear of the truck up.

It's your money, but not sure why your are going with the fleetguard stuff. Our engines don't need the anti-cavitation additive so any good anti-freeze will work fine. Use distilled water and the change will cost way less. Flushing the system with electrasol powder instead of the high priced Prestone flush will lower the cost even more.

I used this in my 2000 for the increased service intervals.

good grief! $25 for one gal of fleetguard antifreeze?

thought $6 per gal for std antifreeze was high. ethlene gylcol is the main ingredient for ALL antifreeze. main difference is additives.

my fav radiator additives over the years is barsall. used to come OEM on new motors.

seems a new trend is to purchase premix antifreeze. still can't figure out why someone would pay 50% higher to avoid adding 50% water along with antifreeze????

I thought pinholing in the water jacket was possible on all diesels? Ive read articles where this has happened to powerstrokes, so Id assume the cummins as well. Cant hurt to be careful. Cummins even sells some additive that addresses cavitation. Could just fill up with a low-silicate coolant and use their additive I guess. The fleetguard coolant is 300,000mi change interval according to the site. But at six gallons I think Im going with the additive instead.

I'm not sure about the price now, but I think I paid about $10.00 per gallon for the 50/50 mix a few years ago. $25.00 per gallon for full strength would seem about right for the product I used, and you would only need 3 gallons.

No, not all, and not Cummins. It is on their wbsite but it takes some searching. Something also to do with V-8 diesels and the type of waterjackets. Sorry, don't remember the details.
